Making a Pouf

I had all good intentions when I bought this coffee sack THREE YEARS AGO for $5.00. I’ve gone back and forth many times about what to do with it. At one point I was going to reupholster a chair back, an ottoman, make some pillows, create a photo mat…but until I’d recently redone our living room, I just couldn’t envision how to transform it.

Now I’m thinking it’ll fit in just right as a small accent piece in the room.

The plan is to turn it into an 18″ cube. I have to pick up some bean bag filling and I’d like to do a blanket stitch around the edges, so I’ll need some sort of jute thread as well. If needed, I have some solid burlap-colored material that I can use should I run short of an 18″ cube.

Here are my inspiration photos…

I’d better get a move on. By the time I finish, poufs will be ‘so last year’. Or are they already??
